The Dutch Windmill

A picture of the Dutch Windmill in San Francisco, California I took on August 7th of 2010. I did this picture in an HDR to bring the colors to life.
In 1903, a pair of Dutch-style windmills were built at the extreme western end of the park. These pumped water throughout the park. The north windmill has been restored to its original appearance and is adjacent to a flower garden, a gift of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. These are planted with tulip bulbs for winter display and other flowers in appropriate seasons. Murphy's Windmill in the south of the park is currently being restored.

EGMONT KEY LIGHTHOUSE

Yesterday, we went out on our neighbor's boat around the bay. We did a bit of snorkeling (we tend to call it "snoggeling"). Our neighbor caught a fish and we cruised around the bay. We love lighthouses and was glad to catch this view. All of us are some shade of red today. Perfect weekend for a boat ride.

Back in June, we were exploring the country of Cedar County, MO. We stopped by my wife's family's property and came across this cool Chevy. HDR captures "Rusty" perfectly!

PFEIFFER BEACH, BIG SUR CA

Back at the beginning of August, took a drive down HWY 1 south from Monterey, CA and visited Big Sur. I had to stop at this beach to take a picture of this holy rock!! Rule of thumb, if you visit Pfeiffer Beach, NEVER forget to pay the parking...the attendant will hunt you down. Wonderful place to visit.

Trip to California

We went to California for a weeks vacation just to get out of Florida and enjoy some cooler weather. We did some hiking and alot of driving down highway 1!

These are a couple of pics I took on the trip.

The bridge Is Bixby Bridge. The one with the pool is at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Ca.



Did some hiking at Pinnacles National Monument and explored the cave also! I wanna go back someday.

OUR TRIP TO YBOR CITY, FLORIDA

July 31st we took a trip from St. Petersburg, Florida over to Ybor City, Florida (which is about 25 miles) and spent the day wandering the streets. Theses are a few photos I took while we were there...

The one above is at the Ybor City History Musuem as is the same for the right pic as well. Both pictures are done in HDR!!!
